2. Purpose & Commitment
Pyrometrix Ltd is committed to protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of all learners, employees, contractors, and visitors engaged in our training services. This commitment extends to both physical and digital environments.
While not formally certified, our management system is aligned with ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems). We adopt a Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle to embed a culture of proactive hazard identification, risk control, and continuous improvement.
Our objectives are:
To eliminate or minimise risks to health and safety.
To maintain zero reportable accidents or incidents.
To ensure 100% of training venues and online platforms are risk assessed prior to use.
To support the physical and mental wellbeing of all staff, trainers, and learners.
3. Legal & Regulatory Compliance
This policy ensures compliance with:
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
Fire Safety Order 2005
All other relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and accreditor requirements.
4. Leadership & Accountability
The Head of Learning & Development has overall accountability for this policy. Leadership responsibilities include:
Ensuring adequate resources, training, and consultation opportunities are in place.
Conducting bi-annual H&S audits and reporting outcomes to the Board.
Assigning local safety leads for each training delivery (venue or online) to act as the first point of contact for emergencies.
5. Risk Assessment & Control Measures
Health & safety risks are managed using a hierarchy of controls: eliminate → substitute → engineer → administrate → PPE.
Controls include:
Venue and digital platform risk assessments for every training session.
Fire safety and evacuation planning, with visible signage and clear instructions.
Availability of trained first aiders and first aid equipment at physical venues.
Secure equipment set-up and inspection logs.
Ergonomic and digital safety checks for trainers and learners in remote delivery.
Maintenance of a central incident and near-miss register, reviewed bi-annually.
6. Worker Participation & Consultation
We value worker and trainer involvement in shaping a safe working environment. Engagement methods include:
Quarterly H&S briefings for trainers and staff.
Inclusion of trainers and contractors in policy review consultations.
Anonymous reporting channels for safety concerns, near-misses, or wellbeing issues.

7. Training, Competence & Awareness

10. Monitoring, Review & Continuous Improvement
Annual reviews are conducted to evaluate performance against KPIs and legal requirements.
KPIs include:
Zero reportable accidents.
100% completion rate of annual trainer H&S refresher.
100% of venues and platforms risk-assessed.
Results from audits, incident investigations, and learner feedback inform updates.
Findings are presented at Board level and shared with staff and trainers to ensure transparency.
11. Policy Review Cycle
This policy is reviewed annually, or sooner if required by law, accrediting body changes, or following a significant incident.
