2. Purpose & Commitment
Pyrometrix Ltd is committed to providing fair, equal, and transparent access to all training opportunities, ensuring that no learner, client, or stakeholder is disadvantaged due to background, circumstance, or protected characteristic.
This policy integrates our approach to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I), Reasonable Adjustments, Learner Suitability & Admissions, and Conflict of Interest, in alignment with the Equality Act 2010, ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility), and best practice in professional training.
3. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I)
Pyrometrix operates a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
All training is designed and delivered in a way that celebrates diversity and ensures learners feel respected and included.
Accessibility considerations (visual, auditory, digital, physical) are embedded into training design and delivery, as outlined in our Accessibility Policy.
4. Reasonable Adjustments
Learners with additional needs are encouraged to disclose requirements at the point of enrolment.
Pyrometrix commits to providing reasonable adjustments, including alternative formats, extended time allowances, or adapted assessments — where feasible.
Requests are handled confidentially, with a response issued within 10 working days of receipt.
Trainers are briefed in advance on any adjustments to ensure a seamless learning experience.
5. Learner Suitability & Admissions
All courses include clear entry requirements and recommended prior knowledge, which are published in advance.
Learner suitability is assessed through a transparent pre-enrolment process to ensure individuals are appropriately matched to the learning level and objectives.
Pre-course guidance is provided to ensure learners and employers fully understand the intended learning outcomes.
Where a learner may not be suitable for a programme, alternative learning pathways or recommendations will be provided.
6. Conflict of Interest
Pyrometrix recognises that conflicts of interest may arise, particularly as we provide both training services and recruitment support within the fire safety sector. To safeguard impartiality and trust:
Corporate Training Exclusivity: When delivering training packages for corporate clients, our commitment is to build capability within their workforce, not to recruit directly from them.
Recruitment Separation: Pyrometrix will not directly approach or hire individuals trained as part of a corporate programme for a period of 12 months from the start of training.
Transparency: Any potential conflicts of interest (trainer-assessor roles, recruitment overlap, or consultancy work) will be declared in advance and managed through a documented process.
Learner Fairness: Assessment decisions will not be influenced by any recruitment or commercial considerations.
This approach ensures that our dual services (training and recruitment) remain independent, ethical, and in the best interest of learners and clients.
7. Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Compliance with this policy is monitored through learner feedback, course evaluations, and audit reviews.
Complaints and appeals relating to equality, access, or suitability are addressed under the Complaints & Appeals Policy.
Policy effectiveness is reviewed bi-annually and updated to reflect emerging best practice and stakeholder feedback.
8. Policy Review Cycle
This policy is reviewed annually by the Head of Learning & Development, with input from staff, learners, and employer partners. Updates are made in line with legal changes, accreditation requirements, and operational growth.
